In a recent publication celebrating Manchester United’s 19th League Title, Bryan
Robson was voted as ‘The Greatest Ever Manchester United Player’, by a posse of ex
United players! There is surely no greater accolade in British Football.
‘Robbo’ joined Manchester United from West Bromwich Albion in October 1981, for
a then British Transfer Record of £1.5 Million, a record which stood for six years.
Bryan was also nicknamed ‘Captain Marvel’ and skippered the England National
side on 65 occasions, having represented his country a total of 90 times. During this
time, the then England Manager, the late and great Sir Bobby Robson, was quoted as
saying that along with Alan Shearer, Bryan was the best player he had ever worked
with. Another immense compliment, coming from a man who certainly knew what it
took to be a true world class player.
On being introduced to Greatest Card Ltd, Bryan said “Football has given me a
wonderful life, and it is really gratifying to be able to once again engage with the

memories”.
