ALL SAINTS DAY

ALL SAINTS DAY

It was incredible that within only a few days Southampton, who played superbly for Ronald Koeman, showed Chelsea how to behave when Matic was incredibly not sent off on a second deliberate foul. What was even more deliberate was that unlike the Chelsea players against PSG on Tuesday night did not make a song and dance about it. That is what discipline is all about and I’m afraid the Dutch master showed Mourinho a thing or two about how to behave.

Anyhow, the Saints did not quite come marching home, because the Chelsea keeper denied them a two goal lead at half0time and they had to settle for a point, as their keeper showed the same great form.

It was a good day for me because I arranged a meet with my old Chelsea team-mate Tommy Baldwin and we met and exchanged greetings, as well as me wanting to get his views on my new book, about the Seattle Sounders, a team he also played for.

A quick quiz question, what were the three clubs that Tommy Baldwin and Alan Hudson played for?

Answer: Chelsea, Arsenal and the Sounders, and as Michael Caine might a say “Not a lot of people know that.”

Whilst in the pub one Chelsea fan gave a me a programme and inside was the best XI of Phil Daniels, a big Chelsea  fan who I met a few months ago, and I was delighted to see that he chose me in his All-Time Chelsea XI.

Phil  picked a side that is quite impressive and I shall rely to that by choosing mine for him on my blog, but here is his team:

Peter Bonetti, Ricardo Carvalho, Eddie McCcreadie, Marcel Desailly, John Terry, Frank Lampard (who’s he) and I’ll tell you about how I was very much involved with his signing for the Blues, Gianfranco Zola (who won the Chelsea all0time greatest player) which I’ll also give my views in, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, Alan Hudson and Peter Osgood.

Watch this space for my team…..
